Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actress who is active in both film, television, and theatre. She's been an professional actor for the past 27 years. Her first professional role came in 1990 in an Off-Broadway performance from The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. As a character in The Perfect Tribute, she was the first actress to appear on TV a year after. In 1992, her acting career launched when she appeared as an actor in the movie Basic Instinct. It was in The Firm however that she got the role of woman leading the film for just the very first time. She was cast in the film alongside famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Throughout the 1990s she worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry including Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. Recently she played Dr Alex Blake in the internationally popular police procedural crime drama Criminal Minds.

In 2007, she was the youngest golfer in history to be selected for the US Women's Open. She didn't win the event, but she was able to win the Aldila Junior Classic in the following year, making her the second. In addition to being one of the most youthful American Junior Golf Association, (AJGA) winner of the championship at the time, she was also the youngest golfer to be awarded the Westfield Junior PGA Championship.
